Hot Shots program- The Hot shots program is for kids looking to start tennis, each lesson uses modified equipment with softer tennis balls and smaller rackets making it easier for kids to play the sport. The starting age is 4 years of age and the class size is a maximum of 6 students per class, class time is 45- minutes and a free racket is included for kids who participate in the full 8- week term, an ANZ Hot Shots t-shirt is also included. Rackets can be provided for all other ages, anyone joining mid or late term will only pay for the classes remaining.
The 3 stages of Hot Shots are red ball (Explore) 4-7 years, orange ball (Develop 8-10 years) and green ball (Encourage) 9+ years.
Junior group classes- Junior group lessons are grouped to a similar age and playing level, lessons involve point play, drills and instruction. Class size is a maximum of 6 students per class. rackets can be provided at no cost and the class time is 45 minutes. Anyone joining mid or late term will only pay for the classes remaining.
Advanced junior squads- Advanced squads are 75 -or 60- minutes duration depending on the number of students per class, advanced squad classes are primarily designed for competition and tournament players, drills and activities are a higher intensity and more emphasis is placed on fitness.
Cardio Tennis- Cardio tennis classes are a fun way to stay fit and play tennis at the same time, cardio classes are for all ages and levels and take place on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6.30 pm. Tennis activities are continuous and designed to burn calories and keep players moving, the cost is $18 per session and a racket can be provided. Semi-private and private lessons- Private classes are a great way to work on a particular part of your game or to fine tune your overall playing skills, class times can vary from 30 minutes up-to 45 minutes, if you would prefer to share a class with a friend or family member a semi-private class is another option.
Junior competition- The Chelsea Heights tennis club competes in the Bayside region tennis association, games take place on a Saturday morning from 8am, 8.30am or 10am depending on each club, each player will play 1 single's and 1 double's set game.
There are 3 sections, green ball level 12 years and under, Girls sets and mixed sets 18 years and under. Green ball level and mixed sets both allow boys and girls in the same team.
The next season will start on Saturday the 18th of July the entry deadline is Friday the 5th of June. There are 14 rounds plus finals there are no games during the school holidays or public holiday weekends.
Matches are played at both home and away within the bayside region.
Each player must become a junior or Family member and pay a $20 ball and registration fee which covers the 6 month season to participate.
Competition is a great way to test your skills against other players within the region, make new friends and gain the social benefits playing in a friendly club environment.
